Eriksen collapses on pitch, resuscitated after cardiac arrest

Christian Eriksen had a cardiac arrest and was gone before being swiftly resuscitated on the pitch, Denmark's team doctor Morten Boesen said.

Eriksen collapsed to the field late in the first half of his team's game against Finland at Euro 2020 on Saturday.

His Danish teammates formed a wall around him to protect the Inter Milan star from view as medics performed CPR and used a defibrillator on him.

Eriksen was taken to a Copenhagen hospital, where he was in stable condition, the Danish soccer federation said in a statement on Sunday.

The incident shocked the world of soccer and led to the match being suspended.

The heroes who helped save Eriksen's life were praised for their quick and decisive actions.
